CHRIS CORNELL To Take Part In Benefit Concert

Chris Cornell (SOUNDGARDEN, AUDIOSLAVE) will perform an acoustic set at the The Roxy in Hollywood, California on Monday, May 3 at 8:00 p.m. as part of a benefit concert for the Fullfillment Fund.

As a college access organization, the Fulfillment Fund provides first-generation, low-income students with the support necessary to graduate from high school and go on to college.

Through classroom instruction, college counseling, mentoring and scholarships, the Fulfillment Fund transforms the lives of students, beginning in high school and extending to college graduation.

The Fulfillment Fund's impact spans beyond the students we serve directly. They, in turn, influence siblings, peers and their community by becoming role models, volunteers, mentors and donors.

As previously reported, Chris Cornell will also play the third concert in his "Songbook Series" at The Roxy in Hollywood, California on Sunday, May 2 at 9:00 p.m. This special intimate solo set will include songs from throughout his career, offering a fresh and alternative way to hear Chris perform.

Recordings of every song that SOUNDGARDEN performed on April 16 at its first gig in 13 years have now surfaced online. The surprise 18-song show at Seattle's Showbox at the Market was described to the 1,000-person hometown crowd as a "rehearsal" by Cornell, with the band not scheduled to officially perform live until its headlining appearance at Chicago's Lollapalooza festival in early August. There's no word yet on whether more dates will pop up before then.

The 18-song set kicked off with "Spoonman" and ended with a version of THE DOORS' "Waiting for the Sun".

The reunited quartet dug deep into its catalog, favoring tracks from its 1989 album "Louder Than Love" and 1991's "Badmotorfinger", while leaving out its biggest single, "Black Hole Sun".

Tickets for the secret show, which was billed as "NUDEDRAGONS," sold out within 15 minutes, according to local reports.

Cornell recorded three albums with AUDIOSLAVE and three records on his own since SOUNDGARDEN disbanded, but his last solo effort, 2009's "Scream", was blasted by critics and fans for its urban pop production and bombed saleswise.

The other two members of the band, guitarist Kim Thayil and bassist Ben Shepherd, have kept lower profiles, although they and Cameron jammed together last year at a Seattle club.
